Apple has a very old history associated with the origin of human race. We have all grown up with the stories of Adam and Eve. The creation of mankind, the forbidden fruit, the fall of man and the curse all revolves around the apple. God created Adam from dust made him to tilt the land and allowed him to eat all the fruits except the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam strictly obeyed the order of God but his companion Eve, created by God from his rib failed to do so. Under the influence of the serpent and in the desire to become equal with God, Eve did the greatest sin ever. Eve took a bite of the forbidden fruit and impelled Adam to do so making him the companion of her sin. Disobeying of God’s word by them made them to see the furious side of God with extreme curses that we all human being living today. God created man perfect but desires lead him to misery. What then is human life a boon or a curse?
All these things relate to that one tempting forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Now, what is that forbidden fruit? In the book of Genesis it is mentioned that Eve had a bite of the forbidden fruit but it doesn’t reveal the name of the food. There have been many interpretations around the world of what the fruit was and one of them is “APPLE”. There are few reasons why the forbidden fruit is considered as apple. Up to 17th century except berries apple was the name given to all fruits. Nuts were also named as apple. Even vegetables also, tomatoes were named as love apple, potatoes with earth apple. It seems people then were obsessed with the name apple and they named every round shape edible object as apple. In 21st century apple is the name that is confined to only one fruit and that’s create a dilemma that is it this apple that Eve ate or some other fruit. The English synonym of the Latin word ‘malum’ both as ‘evil’ and ‘apple’ has created a great confusion of considering apple as the forbidden fruit. Maybe the translation of Latin to English has considered evil as apple and vice versa.
The prominent view of laryngeal cartilage or the larynx mostly seen in male has a story with Adam’s apple. It is believed that the forbidden fruits got stuck in Adam’s throat as he swallowed. Is it that stuck apple of Adam that all males are born with or mankind has accepted that yes the forbidden fruit was nothing but an apple.
Truth is mystery as the truth is only known to the creator and his first creation Adam and Eve as man and woman. It’s also recorded that all the creatures were named by Adam. Adam might have named the forbidden fruit as apple or might not but an apple in a day by Adam and Eve changed the course of the world. Today apple is no more a forbidden fruit and u can consume it without any fear of being cursed.

Who did knew the fall of an apple would lead to a great discovery. How ignorant our life would have been if the fall of an apple wasn’t questioned. Many people saw the falling of many apples but it would take a man of extraordinary curiosity to question it. The greatest coincidence is it has to be an apple and Sir Isaac Newton. One of the greatest anecdotes in the history of science is related to the same fruit ‘APPLE’. The second greatest eureka moment again in the history of science after Archimedes was with Newton. The fall of an apple somewhere mentioned as on Newton’s head inspired him to make the greatest discoveries. The frequent falling of apple in perpendicular direction to the centre of the Earth made Newton’s understanding of the gravitation force apparent. With the help of an falling apple he could find out the answer for the obit of moon around the Earth.
Sitting in his mother’s garden in Lincolnshire he found out the basic force exerted on every matter on this Earth. He came up with the concept that “Apple draws Earth, as well as the Earth draws the Apple”. Apple and Earth are very old associates. Having similar shape as of Earth, apple helped in revealing one of the secrets of Earth. The fruit from the tree of knowledge yielded many theories and formulae for scientific advancement.
Nature has answer to man’s question. A time spent in the lap of nature gave Newton thee theory of gravity. Even apple a fruit can help great scientist to discover and invent many things hidden in the wombs of Earth. Question every phenomena of nature and you may find something new. Next time an apple fall don’t question it, wash it and eat it.
3. Apple that made our bed time story

Among the step mother and daughter fight here comes our everyday fruit-THE APPLE. The role of apple was very vital. Here the apple was not just an apple that will keep the doctor away but, The Poisoned Apple. The step mother on her final attempt took the help of black magic as she herself was a witch. Going through her spell book she found the recipe of “Sleeping Death”. With that recipe she cooked the apple and turned its poisonous. In the process of doing so the apple turned out black. As no one would eat a black apple she converted it into a tempting blood red apple.
The step mother went near Snow White and with the tempting colour of apple and her persuading talks she finally convinced Snow white to eat it. With a bite of the poisoned apple Snow White went into sleep. Apple gave a victory to the step mother but every spell has a antidote. The antidote of sleeping death was love’s first kiss. When Snow White was taken in a coffin of glass and gold she was encounter by her love. Amazed by the beauty of her the prince kissed her and she was revived from the spell.
The poisoned apple couldn’t live up to the exception of the step mother but apple you get from market will definitely do it. Keep eating apples.

An English computer scientist who ended the greatest tyranny chooses an apple for his own end. The story of death is very familiar with the fairy tale “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. It was speculated that the death of Turing was due to a poisoned apple. Again apple, the reason of someone’s death. Here the poison was cyanide. As believed the fatal dose was consumed through apple. Now apple came into picture as it was half eaten and was lying beside his bed. Knowing that cyanide was the cause of death apple was not tested for cyanide.
The presence of apple made it the cause of his death without knowing the fact about it. In some authors writing it is mentioned that Turing had a habit of eating apple before bed. Thought the involvement of apple is not interrogated but whenever stories of Turing’s death will be told apple will come into picture.
The person who decoded Enigma kept his death encoded. There are many stories of his death. Some suggest it was due to the accidental inhalation of cyanide fumes while performing an experiment. Hope the only eye witness apple could have revealed the truth.

After returning from the visit of an apple farm Steve Jobs decided to name his company as APPLE as the name sounded “fun, spirited and not intimidated”. It was never thought that the apple we eat daily has become so powerful when associated to innovation that it changed the scenario of technology in the world. Today APPLE has uplifted the standards of living. It would not be wrong to say that the technical revolution made by a simple fruit is remarkable. Imagination is boundless, and that made Steve Jobs to associate a fruit with technology. Naming an electronic company with the name of a fruit is one of the classic works done ever.
Many pranks are seen in social networking saying “life was easy when apple was just a fruit”, but hasn’t life become easier with the sophisticated and high end technology used in APPLE. As an apple cures aliments, Steve Jobs vision for APPLE Computers was to assist human to rise above the black chaos of manual conundrum. From computers to iPod, iPhone, iPad and many more. APPLE has changed the way music was listened, computing was done, made Smartphone one of a kind which individual wish to have and products beyond excellence. Apple is no more limited to fruit markets it’s available in a gadgets shops as a leading brand. It is no more kept in a basket on the dining table top but also on the working table of many corporate houses, many schools and institutions. Apple has made its presence felt everywhere not just as a fruit but as an inspiration for innovation.
The enormous potential of an APPLE is well depicted in its logo. If just a bite of it could take us to a new frontier of technology what would have happened if swallowed completely. Designers say he bite is made in order to avoid the confusion of considering apple as a berry. Some other says the bite logo is as a tribute to Allen Turing work in the field of computers, near whose dead body an apple with a bite was found.
The thought of such a name is truly aware to the one who named it but apple as a fruit has attracted the mind of a visionary towards itself making it more than just a mere fruit. Next time when we bite an apple will it be just a fruit or a chunk of innovation.
